Zhiwei Zhang is the President and Chief Economist at Pinpoint Asset Management Limited. Before joining Pinpoint in 2019, he was the Chief China Economist and Head of China Equity Strategy at Deutsche Bank for five years. He also worked as an economist at Nomura, China International Capital Corporation, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, International Monetary Fund, and the Bank of Canada. He has published in leading academic journals and was widely quoted by financial media including Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, the Economist, and Financial Times. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, and a BA from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China
