Zhongxiu Zhao, Ph.D, is Professor and President of University of International Business and Economics, China (UIBE). He joined UIBE in 1991 as assistant professor and held positions as dean, assistant president and vice president. He was president of Shandong University of Finance and Economics (SDUFE) from December 2018 to January 2023 and return to UIBE as president. Professor Zhao holds BA in Economics (Peking University,1988), Ph.D. in Economics (UIBE,2000) and Doctor Honoris Causa (Yokohama National University, Japan 2015). Dr. Zhao’s prolific academic career has included contributions as co-author and editor for eighteen books, author of numerous academic articles, and a frequent participant in academic conferences. He has also utilized his academic expertise in frequent consulting positions for government agencies, international organizations, and both Chinese and international companies, including his position as the Chairman of Higher Education Economics and International Trade Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of the China Society of World Economics, Vice President of the China Council for BRICS Think Tank Cooperation, and Member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). Professor Zhao is an active member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (since 2015).
